Tonight, we Töten the German's Men's Olympic Hockey Team

So I didn't have a chance to blog about the pitiful Men's Hockey Olympic Game with Canada vs. The US on Sunday (I was too busy mending my broken heart and responding to the backlash e-mails that I got from my American friends). Hence, I MUST capture my thoughts going into tonight's "Do or Die" game with Canada vs. Germany. Now, unlike our game against the American's, I don't feel toooo much need to talk smack. I think everyone knows that Hockey is Canada's game (Thank you Coke for that making light of that with your Olympic slogan), and I think tonight our Men's Hockey team will *hopefully* step up and claim their rightful title as "The team to beat". HOCKEY IS CANADA'S GAME and while our premiere Goalie, Marty Brodeur may have forgotten that at the last game, my boy Roberto Luongo will start us off tonight and remind everyone again! Tonight we will Töten Germany! Hitler is crying in his cave in Hell!

Olympic Patriotic Pride!

On Friday, February 12th, 2010, my Glowing heart was bursting with Patriotic Pride. As Nikki Yanofski sang our National Anthem, and we all awaited the final flame of the Olympic Torch Relay to ignite, there was magic in the air! After 200 years of trying to convince the world that we were more than just Eskimo's in igloo's and Mounties patrolling a nation of Teepee's, this was our chance to show the world what we were all about. This was our moment to exhibit Canada's rich pluralistic culture. This was our moment to display our vast variety of talent. This was our moment to SHINE. Instead, I was gobsmacked to see that the organizers of the show decided to use this as a chance to show 2 hours worth of First Nation's culture; have Nelly Furtado and Brian Adams Lip sync their song, before Katie Lang decided to perform looking like a hobo man with no shoes on. My patriotic pride was further deflated as I saw THE GREAT ONE, Wayne Gretzky had to make the final run to light the Outdoor torch, riding on the back of a pick-up truck?! The organizers took years to plan for this event and yet they failed to provide him with suitable transportation. It was like watching the Brampton Santa Clause Parade. If this was a US event, our neighbours to the south would have made sure that he was riding in style with a motorcade of Envoy's surrounding his mode of transportation to keep away the hoodlums that were putting up gang signs as he went. You're from the 'West Side', we get it. Now put your fingers down. The rain was beating down and as the torch nearly extinguised, the only thing that wasn't soggy on Gretzky was his smile. Thankfully, Canadians did make one good decision... To choose a final torch bearer who has a glimmer in his smile and a Patriotic Pride in his heart that could like the torch without a single flame.

This is me...

Between hanging out with my friends and working at the job I love, I like to keep myself busy at all times! I LOVE to do new things and am up for trying pretty much ANYTHING at least once! Although I like to keep busy, I do my best to make time for my favourite shows... Sex and the City, Law & Order and whatever reality TV show I can find to pollute my brain with. I love to travel and believe that no one can ever see the whole world or get enough of it to quit and stay in one spot... One of my greatest ambitions in life is to posses a passport full of stamps... I speak many languages and can never get enough of learning new. I'm terrible at seeing people's faults because I always try to find the good in people. I am not quiet about the way feel, my life is like an open book, but I do have manners, morals and ettiquette. I believe in free will and free speech, but never at the cost of anyones feelings. Some of my favourite quotes are: "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single minute before starting to improve the world." -Anne Frank -AND- "Treasure Every Moment That You Have Because Yesterday Is History. Tomorrow Is A Mystery. Today Is A Gift. That..s Why It..s Called The Present !" -- Author: Brilliant, but unknown. -AND- "Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching." -- Author: Brilliant, but unknown. I try to live my life according to these quotations and I like to live my life according to what I believe in. If someone were to ask me three things about me... here they are: ..1) I am a women of God. I'm not a thumper, but I have my beliefs and religion which I hold near and dear to my heart. ..2) I Love my family. I have all brothers and two parents and they mean everything to me, although I can honestly say I've never been a daddy's girl, or a mommy's girl for that matter. ..3) I am independant. I like to achieve success and I like to do it on my own terms, but I am not unaware of the way the world works... I know that it's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know..
